New rules for obtaining higher education in Ukraine by students from the State of Palestine

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the State of Palestine has identified the following innovations regarding the access of Palestinian students to higher education in Ukraine:

1. All state higher education institutions of Ukraine are accredited by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the State of Palestine.

2. Private higher education institutions of Ukraine may be accredited and recognized if they are recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and have the appropriate license and accreditation provided by at least one international organization for standardization, metrology and accreditation.

3. For applicants from the State of Palestine to enter any higher education institution of Ukraine, it is sufficient to have an average certificate of secondary education not lower than 65%. The training is allowed in the same field as indicated in the certificate: the field of the natural/exact sciences or the humanities.

4. According to the Decision No. 35 of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the State of Palestine from 2018 "On the Recognition of the Diplomas Issued by Non-Palestinian Higher Education Institutions", legalization and recognition of higher education diplomas of Palestinian students in the fields of medicine and dentistry issued by non-Palestinian (Arabic or other foreign) universities will be carried out if a Palestinian certificate of secondary education in the field "exact sciences" or with an average score above 80% is available.

5. Students who completed their studies at the preparatory faculty at the institution of higher education of Ukraine in 2017-2018 and entered the study with an average score of the certificate less than 80% may continue their studies at universities.

6. Studies in higher education institutions of Ukraine for Palestinian students can be conducted in three languages - Ukrainian, Russian and English. Also, at the request of a student, if it is possible, the studies on English-language programs are allowed.
