ENIC Ukraine is a partner of the international project TPG-LRC Plus, implemented under the Erasmus+ programme. The coordinator of TPG-LRC Plus is the Italian Information Centre for Academic Mobility and Equivalence (CIMEA). The main aim of the project is to promote the implementation of the Lisbon Convention on Recognition in the European Higher Education Area, as well as support the Bologna Process.
Within the framework of this project, specialists from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and ENIC Ukraine held an online focus group on March 13, 2026, “Implementation of Automatic Recognition from the Perspective of Higher Education Institutions.” The main aim of the event was to determine the level of awareness of higher education institutions regarding automatic recognition and the status of its practical implementation at the institutional level.
The event was moderated by Maryna Mruha, the Head of the Expert Group on Integration into the European Higher Education Area and Quality Assurance of Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. From ENIC Ukraine, the focus group was moderated by Anna Bakhlukova, Head of the Recognition of Educational Qualifications Department, and Tetiana Vahina, Senior Advisor.
Representatives of higher education institutions of Ukraine joined the focus group, including: Liudmyla Herun (West Ukrainian National University), Olena Ivanova (Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics), Mykola Hryshkov (Kyiv Medical University), Oleksii Khumarov (Odesa Polytechnic National University), Olena Volska (Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding).
During the focus group, participants shared their experience and practices in implementing automatic recognition in their institutions, and also reviewed the tools used to support automatic recognition in the activities of higher education institutions. Special attention was paid to the impact of digital transformation processes on the internal policies and institutional practices of universities.
The outcomes of the discussions will be presented at an online seminar on automatic recognition, which will take place on April 16, 2026, and will also be used in the preparation of a publication dedicated to the topic of automatic recognition.
